This men was the best, and LAST Doctor. Everything after was soulless. Whittaker barely understood what she was doing, and didnt even try her C-game for the role. Ncuti seemed om at the special, but is insufferable as the Doctor, and blames everyone, BUT himself. He is simply not cut out for the role. And RTD? Shame on you mate. I used to love you writing so much. Now you literally only care about virtue signalling. Nothing else. You always made thjngs progressive, and that's fine, but there is ZERO passion now. Only there to virtue signal. Nothing more.

Tom Baker is a treasure. He was a part of my childhood every evening here in Australia and he's gone on to a amazing career in comedy after that.

I think it was the lack of moments to truly be frightened of the doctor, like this one, Colonel Runaway, or The Time Lord Victorious, that was the biggest thing missing in 13's run. She needed her points of Rage, and she never seemed to get them.

He was and is my all time favourite Doctor who and always will be.

This is why I love this episode. There is a constant tension between his retelling of his time on Gallifrey and the mystery. Is this one of Clara's alternate versions? Has Clara's memory been wiped and this is in the past? Oh... No. The Doctor doesn't remember her. And you can see the pain in Clara's eyes looking at a man who has no memory of her despite the fondness she has for him. It's painful.

Tom is a national treasure and I know those two words get overused but in his case he is. He was also brilliant as Doctor Who, Blackadder or voice over on Little Britain

I agree wholeheartedly with him in that it is a show about death. I mean, countless countless storylines, arcs & backstories in the DW universe deal with death, loss, grief, and mortality-and the show itself begins (well off screen it begins) with the Doctor and a select few others being the sole survivors of a catastrophic devastating and traumatic war that led to the deaths of everyone he/she/they knew around them in a planet wide genocide, and they are a deeply lonely person because of it. This might be the reason why they choose to have companions to travel with-they want to fill the void that was created in the aftermath of that war, to remind themselves of the person they were prior to that. But eventually, they themselves will inevitably outlive their companions and friends and loved ones-and that is why they are stuck in a seemingly endless loop of travel with companions and otherwise. They have to deal with death on a daily basis-and that isn’t easy. I was brought to this because of a podcast that I listen to called “Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake”, in which guests plan out and discuss their fantasy death and funeral, amongst other things, really, and Peter Capaldi was featured as a guest (the one and only Kathy Burke hosts it, and trust me it is a lot funnier than it sounds)…and I agree with him on a lot of it.
